BioBackground
Tidus grew up in Zanarkand, a huge, bustling metropolis. His father, Jecht was a Blitzball player, a sport involving a sphere of water and a unique ball. Tidus also became a Blitzball player, and led his team, the Abes, to the finals. However, during the match, an enormous beast attacked and partially destroyed half the stadium! After escaping the wreckage, Tidus was met by Auron, whom he had known since he was a kid. (The game never really implies what their relationship is...) Auron led Tidus to Sin, but, once they got close there was a blinding light and Tidus was taken away from Zanarkand. When he woke up, washed up on some ruined temple, Tidus tried to make the best of it, starting a fire, at least. He was soon found by a tribe of people who spoke a language he couldn't understand at all. He was grateful, but, the others didn't seem to think so, as they promptly beat him up and took him back to their ship. There he helped the crew, led by a girl named Rikku uncover an airship, and was finally given something to eat, when, Sin attacked again, throwing Tidus overboard. When he came too next, he was at a small island called Besaid. There he met Yuna, a newly made summoner, Wakka, a Blitzball fanatic and one of her guardians, and Lulu another of Yuna's guardians. After agreeing to help Wakka's team in the upcoming Blitz tournament, the group left the island. However, on the way out, Tidus was attacked by Khimari, Yuna's guardian since she had been little. Though it was quicky stopped. After traveling to Kilika and Luka, the place of the tournament, Tidus was officialy welcomed as a summoner guardian of Yuna, along with Auron. Once they had traveled as far as Macalania they uncovered that Seymour, a high priest, was trying to upsurp the main power of Spira! They battled, and killed him, however, upon trying to escape were trapped under the temple. While down there, Sin attacked, and the group was thrown into the desert, separated. The guardians managed to reunite, but found that the Guado, Seymour's people, had abducted Yuna to Bevelle and she was being forced to marry him! Using the airship that Tidus had helped uncover, the group stormed Bevelle and recovered Yuna. However, they were arrested, and Yuna discovered the treason didn't stop at Seymour! After escaping and a second battle with Seymour. The group continued to the ruins of Zanarkand, where Tidus found that he was no more than a dream of the Fayth, and that they would wake soon. Upon facing Yunalesca, the first to ever defeat Sin, they discovered that the final summon would indeed defeat Sin, it would take the sacrifice of both the summoner and a guardian. Not wanting to do that to anyone she cared about, Yuna refused, and the battle with Yunalesca ensued. After defeating her, the group went on to break into Sin's massive body and destroy it piece by piece. After a final battle with Seymour, Tidus who had found that his father had become the final summon for Yuna's father ten years ago, defeated him. The final battle was against Yu Yevon himself, the puppetmaster behind all of Spira. The fayth started to disperse, Tidus faded away, but not before he and Yuna admitted their love for each other.
Personality
Tidus is always optimistic, cheerful, and there to cheer everyone up when they need it. Though because of this, he often misses the bigger issue at hand (we'll go there after we beat sin!). When it comes to athletics, namely Blitzball, Tidus is very competitive, and very confident in his abilities, much so to the point of outright cockyness. This is also prevalant in his fighting as well (Who cares if it's a rock! I'll slice it anyay!). Tidus cares deeply for his friends. He will always be there to back them up and try and help them with their problems (You two get along great though!). Because of this, Tidus is easy to confide in, and many of the group does this often. Because of his happy nature, Tidus often goofs around. Usually by making jokes to lighten the mood or make Yuna laugh, or by dancing around (Djose Temple wtf are you doing back there Tidus?!). Lastly, like any good shounen, Tidus gets hungry a lot (I need foooooood!) and can put a lot away.
